Let There Be Light!

Classic BusinessObjects Rainbow Logo

With the current economic uncertainty, it can be easy to lose our perspective as business intelligence professionals. But in good times or bad, we offer the organizations we serve processes and tools that can help them see the light. Here’s some positive inspiration for 2009, taken from the 2007 introduction of Business Objects’ cool “rainbow” logo.

Human history is often described as the ongoing search for answers,
a daily struggle for knowledge,
the pursuit of truth.
Whatever you call it,
in the end,
it all amounts to the same thing:
the human desire for illumination.
And anyone who has ever emerged from the darkness,
has gone about it in the same way:
take distinct pieces of data,
combined them,
and make a connection,
find a pattern,
or discover a relationship.
Scientists,
artists,
thinkers of all stripes,
have followed this process to make leaps –
from awareness to understanding –
from meaning to purpose –
from decision to action,
This is the DNA of progress,
and it has been transformed our world since the beginning.
It also happens to be the foundation of the company,
that is making the connections,
and building the relationships longer,
and with more success than anyone else.
A company who has concept of intelligence goes beyond software,
and a company for whom transformation is more than just an empty promise.
It s a mission.
We are not a business intelligence company. We are in the business of helping companies become more intelligent.
And we are here to not only to help our customers improve their performance,
but to usher a new age of performance enlightenment.
We are Business Objects and we say:
let there be awareness,
understanding,
meaning,
purpose,
decision,
and action.

Let there be light. Fiat Lux.
